Transition to retirement pensions: not dead yet

Reports of the end of TTR have been exaggerated. It’s still a worthwhile strategy, even if a bit less effective.

Summary:  While the budget proposed reforms to transition to retirement arrangements that would tax pension funds, the TTR strategy will not be wiped out entirely. The main way around these changes would be to convert a TTR arrangement into an allocated pension.

Key take-out: If you currently have a TTR, keep in mind that the changes require a coalition government to be elected in July and have the legislation pass through parliament - this likely means rules wont' come into effect until July 2017.
