Leighton Holdings (LEI) subsidiary John Holland has won a $365 million contract to redevelop Tasmania's Royal Hobart Hospital.

The construction firm said the project would include the construction of a new 10-story building of two towers.

The new building will include operating theatres, women's clinics, endoscopy, paediatrics, maternity and mental health functions.

The project will also include the refurbishment of existing facilities.

John Holland won the project as part of a joint venture with fellow construction firm Fairbrother.
