Aust stocks set to open flat

Local market expected to begin little changed with Wall St closed for Thanksgiving.

The Australian stock market looks set to open flat following gains on European markets amid quiet trade with Wall Street closed for the Thanksgiving public holiday.

At 0645 AEDT, the December share price index futures contract was up two points at 5,354.

In economic news on Friday, the Reserve Bank of Australia is expected to release financial aggregates data for October.

In equities news, Primary Health Care, Beach Energy, Retail Food Group, Sundance Resources, Village Roadshow and Buderim Ginger have annual general meetings scheduled.

In Australia, the market on Thursday closed essentially flat after showed business investment grew strongly in the three months to September.

The benchmark S&P/ASX200 index gained 1.7 points, or 0.03%, to 5,326.6 points.

The broader All Ordinaries index added 1.4 points, or 0.03%, to 5,334.3.
