Aust stocks open little changed

Local market begins flat in quiet trade as Wall St closed for Thanksgiving.

The Australian stock market opened flat following gains on European markets amid quiet trade with Wall Street closed for the Thanksgiving public holiday.

At the 1015 AEDT official market open, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index lifted 0.06% to 5,337.6 points, while the broader All Ordinaries index edged up 0.06%, to 5,329.9.

In economic news on Friday, the Reserve Bank of Australia is expected to release financial aggregates data for October.

In equities news, Primary Health Care, Beach Energy, Retail Food Group, Sundance Resources, Village Roadshow and Buderim Ginger have annual general meetings scheduled.

In Australia, the market on Thursday closed essentially flat after showed business investment grew strongly in the three months to September.

The benchmark S&P/ASX200 index gained 1.7 points, or 0.03%, to 5,326.6 points.

The broader All Ordinaries index added 1.4 points, or 0.03%, to 5,334.3.
