The latest episode of Wine Guide TV takes you to Portugal, where the evolution of wines that have come out in the past 5 to 10 years has been staggering. When the country became part of the EU, a lot of new money went into wine perfection, and now what we are seeing is a direct result of some fabulous technology being applied to traditional areas. Australia is seeing more and more wines thanks to some wonderful importers, and we look at some that beautifully express the land from where they came from. The guys have a surprise at the end – an accidental opening of a vintage port, one that tastes amazing now, but would also stay in suspended animation for 30 years and still taste mesmerising.
