Koba Resources Limited (ASX: KOB) reported strong results from its maiden reverse circulation drilling program at the 100%-owned Mt Garnet Tin-Tungsten Project in North Queensland, with 24 holes for 2,937m testing the historical Gilmore Mine and nearby Stannex Prospect. At Gilmore, where historical production totalled 26,169 tonnes at 7.6% Sn, only three holes were drilled yet hole MGRC011 returned a standout broad, high-grade intersection of 29m at 1.2% Sn, 0.36% Cu, 0.017% WO3 and 22 g/t Ag from 111m, including 15m at 2.0% Sn and a peak 2m at 6.3% Sn, while MGRC013 intersected 5m at 0.58% Sn about 230m east, supporting potential to extend mineralisation along strike beyond historical workings. At the Stannex Prospect, 21 broadly spaced holes outlined encouraging tin mineralisation across 2km of strike, including 4m at 0.67% Sn from 5m in MGRC020 and 10m at 0.25% Sn from 69m in MGRC021, along with anomalous zinc, lead, silver, copper and indium in some holes. Koba said the results confirm Gilmore as a high-priority target, demonstrate district-scale exploration upside at Stannex, and support follow-up infill and extensional drilling at Gilmore before year end, maiden drilling at the Kitchener and Jiminy prospects at Stannary Hills in coming weeks, and further geological mapping and sampling across Mt Garnet through the rest of 2026 ahead of additional drilling in 2027.
Key Points
Koba Resources Limited announced maiden RC drilling results from its 100%-owned Mt Garnet Tin-Tungsten Project in North Queensland.
The drilling program comprised 24 RC holes for 2,937m targeting the historical Gilmore Mine and the Stannex Prospect.
The standout result at Gilmore was 29m at 1.2% Sn, 0.36% Cu, 0.017% WO3 and 22 g/t Ag from 111m in hole MGRC011.
The MGRC011 intersection included 15m at 2.0% Sn, 0.58% Cu, 0.020% WO3 and 33 g/t Ag from 117m.
Higher-grade zones within MGRC011 included 2m at 6.3% Sn from 126m and 2m at 3.0% Sn, 1.16% Cu, 0.057% WO3 and 53 g/t Ag from 130m.
Gilmore has historical production of 26,169 tonnes at 7.6% Sn and had not been drilled for more than 45 years.
A further Gilmore intercept in MGRC013 returned 5m at 0.58% Sn from 9m, including 2m at 1.2% Sn, about 230m east of MGRC011.
Koba said the Gilmore results show significant tin mineralisation remains unmined and open along strike.
At the Stannex Prospect, 21 broadly spaced holes tested a 2km-long high-tenor tin-in-soil anomaly with coincident IP chargeability anomalies.
Significant Stannex tin results included 4m at 0.67% Sn from 5m in MGRC020, including 1m at 1.86% Sn.
Another notable Stannex result was 10m at 0.25% Sn from 69m in MGRC021, including 1m at 0.76% Sn and 1m at 0.56% Sn.
Additional encouraging Stannex intercepts were reported in holes MGRC003, MGRC005, MGRC006, MGRC014, MGRC016 and MGRC002.
Stannex drilling also intersected anomalous base metals, including 3m at 3.4% Zn, 1.5% Pb, 65 g/t Ag and 31 g/t In from 184m in MGRC024.
The company said the Stannex results demonstrate significant scale potential over 2km of strike.
Follow-up work will include infill and extensional drilling at Gilmore before year end.
Follow-up drilling at Stannex is being planned for early 2027.
Earthworks were underway for maiden drilling at the Kitchener and Jiminy prospects within the Stannary Hills Tin-Tungsten Project.
Koba also plans ongoing geological mapping and sampling of tungsten targets across the greater Mt Garnet Project during the remainder of 2026.
