Control Bionics Limited has successfully registered and listed its NeuroStrip™ surface EMG wearable platform as a medical device with the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This registration enhances NeuroStrip's status within the US medical device regulatory framework, reinforcing its credential as a medical-grade device. Although not required for its existing use in sports performance and general rehabilitation, the FDA registration significantly bolsters the platform’s position in advanced clinical rehabilitation and future human-computer interface applications. The registration is anticipated to facilitate engagements with advanced clinical rehabilitation providers, medical research institutions, and medtech development partners. Control Bionics is also pursuing regulatory approvals in other key jurisdictions, including the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) in Australia, CE marking in the EU, and UK MDR registration.
