Apple’s refusal to ditch Corning’s Gorilla Glass in favour of Sapphire glass in the iPhone 6 has raised consternation in some quarters.

Sapphire, which is believed to be more durable, thinner, scratch resistant, was expected to play a big role in revamping the display of new look iPhone. However, it only makes an appearance in the home button and camera lenses.
