We’re excited to launch the new Business Spectator on web and mobile, with a fresh new look and some exciting new features.
Why did we do this? We decided to make some changes based on what you, our readers, like. In preparing this project, we took a close look at how you are using Business Spectator, what you like, what you ignore and what you love.
As a result, our new site makes it easier for you to keep up with the markets, follow your favourite Business Spectator writers and have your say and join the debate.
What’s new
Data everywhere
We know you love market data, so we’re making it easier for you to access that data, wherever you are on our site, on web and mobile.
The new market data block lives at the top of every page of the site. From here you can keep track of live Australian indices, the major global markets and the currency cross rates that matter to Australian business. You can also see at a glance how the ASX’s most widely held stocks are faring and click through to view detailed performance, latest news, ASX announcements and news about those companies.
And if all that data is getting in the way of your reading experience, you can minimise the module and it will remain minimised across the site until you expand it again.
Personalise your shares
If you’re a subscriber, you can now personalise the shares you see in the market data block. Simply click ‘customise’ and you’ll be able to switch the four widely-held stocks for your own choices. Once saved, these prices will appear as ‘My Stocks’.
All ordinary listed shares are available and your personalised stocks will remain in that position every time you visit.
Follow the Spectators
You can now get easy access to all the content from our top commentators and journalists, anywhere on the site. The Follow The Spectators module allows you to quickly follow our spectators on social media or access the complete archive of their content. Simply hover over the commentator to get access to their bio, full archive and social media accounts.
New looks for Technology Spectator and Climate Spectator
We’ve given our Climate and Technology sections a makeover. You can check them out at here and here.
Improved DataRoom
Our M&A and IPO section, DataRoom has also had an update with more content, a new look and easier navigation. Stay tuned for more DataRoom content in the coming months.
