The last time we checked in with AH Beard, one of Australia’s big three bed makers, it was about to make the leap into China. Now we know the family business has made a special bed for the country and it’s fit for kings.

The mattresses for Chinese sale will cost around $US50,000 each and they take a full day to make by hand from the highest quality wool, alpaca, mohair and cashmere.

Former Prime Minister John Howard and his wife Janette opened AH Beard’s first Shanghai facility in July and the company will soon be selling beds from 26 locations across the country.
