Transfield Services (TSE) has appointed Dean Pritchard as a non-executive director, effective October 28.
In a statement to the Australian Securities Exchange, Transfield chairman Tony Shepherd said Mr Pritchard's appointment was part of the ongoing board renewal and his experience as a company director would be invaluable in the current challenging market.
"His experience in the fields in which we operate plus his passion for health and safety will be of material value to the board," Mr Shepherd said.
Mr Pritchard has had a 27-year executive career as a contractor in the property, engineering, construction and services industries, serving as chief executive officer of Baulderstone Hornibrook and on boards including Arrium (ARI) and OZ Minerals (OZL).
He will hold office until the 2014 annual general meeting, when his appointment will be put to shareholders for election.
