The top 10 solar PV suppliers for the year have been revealed, with PV-Tech revealing its list based on shipment guidance forecasts for the final quarter of the calendar year.

Once again, the battle for top spot has been between China makers Trina Solar and Yingli Solar, with PV-Tech declaring Trina (3.61-3.66GW versus 3.3-3.35GW) the winner despite both companies lowering their guidance since August.

The results represent just 3-6% shipment growth for Yingli this year, with a much more robust 40-42% for Trina.

Meanwhile, JinkoSolar has managed sustain momentum, rising to fifth, as rivals Canadian Solar and Japan's Sharp trimmed and lowered their forecasts respectively, the website reports, while JA Solar's expected 105-114% surge "reflects its switch from being a merchant solar producer to a major module supplier in only a few years".

Just outside the top 10 were SunPower, Kyocera and Germany's Hanwha Q CELLS, PV-Tech said, with Solar Frontier, REC Solar and SolarWorld a little further back.
