The download speeds that matter
If you want to know which country leads on download speeds, ask the gamers.
If there's one group that has its finger on the pulse of download speeds it's gamers.
Yesterday's Economist Intelligence Unit report on government broadband got quite a run, but as you can see from this infographic from game-delivery company Pando Networks, the worldwide average download speed is 540 KBpS, at least according to the gaming community.

The Pando Networks study conducted in the six months to June 30, tracked the download speeds of 21 million gamers around the world, and the results are interesting.
NBN commentators have already spent much time comparing Australia's download speeds with that of the leader South Korea, but perhaps they should also take a look at Romania and Bulgaria.
