The death of plastic

If you reckon mobile payments will make cash extinct, think again. The trend is sparking a 'cardless’ movement' and it's the likes of Amex, Visa and Mastercard that are in the line of fire.

Mobile payments has been forecast to herald the demise of cash payments. But as Brett King explains, mobile payments would be more likely imperil the like of Mastercard and Visa through the decline of plastic cards, and not even dent cash usage.
