Shareholders have started to question the technology expertise of the boards of leading Australian companies in recent years. Commonwealth Bank and Telstra are just two that have faced scrutiny as investors wonder whether their boards have the skills required to compete or partner with global technology giants such as Google.
But research shows only 11 per cent of boards are presenting information security topics at each board meeting, and 40 per cent quarterly.
