Facebook, Twitter, Google - you would think that with all the social media networks at our disposal today humble email has nowhere left to go.
The warning signs are there to some extent with Sean Rintel pointing out in his piece that companies are starting to distance themselves from email.
And they have a valid point. Younger workforces are not interested in using email and then there is the mountain of spam and unwanted newsletters, promotions, etc that have been the bane of email users everywhere.
So is the age of the email on a terminal decline? That depends if the medium is able to reinvigorate itself as a personal and social messaging tool.
Facebook and Twitter may have growing user bases, but 188 billion emails are sent from nearly three billion accounts every day. Facebook and Twitter still can’t match those numbers.
