Four years after her separation from ad man John Singleton, Julie Singleton has her own radio show about divorce on 2UE, arch rival to her ex-husband's station 2GB.

The two-hour show Legal Matters with Julie Singleton starts today at 6pm.

"I must say I haven't spoken to 2GB so they haven't denied me a job. It just came up at 2UE," Ms Singleton said.

"I will be discussing all legal matters on the show from, of course, my favourite family law, crime including drink-driving, car accidents, speeding offences, AVOs [apprehended violence orders] and other areas like wrongful dismissal, discrimination, buying and selling a home, tenancy problems.

"I will be interviewing leading barristers and lawyers to give advice and information and they will answer calls from listeners."

Ms Singleton's first guest will be country music star Melinda Schneider. "She went through a divorce three years ago. We'll talk about things she wished she knew then that she knows now."

Ms Singleton, who was Mr Singleton's fifth wife, said her

most important advice to people going through divorce was "you

will get through it and you will be happy again".

"I probably lead a different life now different but better," she said. "Anyone who goes through divorce knows that.

"One of the things I did was

I wrote a list of what I didn't do because I was married. So now

I'm finishing my Masters. And

I wouldn't be doing this show because I didn't have time when

I was married.

"Marriage is very time-consuming. If I had a husband

I couldn't do it. Most professional women would understand."
