Rio Tinto flags job cuts
Mining giant set to cull undisclosed number of jobs at Hails Creek mine: report.
Rio Tinto will cut an undisclosed number of jobs at its Hails Creek coal mine, as low coal prices continue to weigh on the miner's operations, Bloomberg reports.
According to the media outlet, Rio Tinto said in an email a number of roles were no longer required at the Australian coal mine, as the operation undergoes some changes to ensure its sustainability.
The mining giant reportedly added that it was working to improve its overall productivity and to reduce costs across all of its mines.
