The InvestSMART Australian Small Companies Fund has shown tremendous performance since it's inception in February 2017. The Fund is a concentrated portfolio of the analyst teams best small cap ideas and Senior Analysts', Alex Hughes and Jon Mills, talk us through two of those ideas.

Alex talks about his investment case for red light and safety camera operator Redflex Holdings (RDF) which has a new CEO at the helm and recently completed an entitlement offer raising additional funds to put it in a good position to win new contracts.

Jon Mills discusses the opportunity he sees in Austin Engineering (ANG). It is no secret the mining services sector has been under strain for some time now and the share price of Austin Engineering reflects this. But, the tides are showing signs of turning as mining companies who have put off replacing equipment on trucks and diggers will need to be replaced. Parts such as teeth on diggers are essential for miners to keep operating and there are signs the replacement cycle is turning.

These are just two of the investment cases in the portfolio. Every month the team will write up an in-depth investment case for a company in the portfolio and each quarter the top five holdings are released in the quarterly report.
