Leighton inks $100m Rio contract

Subsidiary John Holland to build mine infrastructure in Pilbara, WA.

Leighton (LEI) subsidiary John Holland has won a contract worth approximately $100 million from Rio Tinto for mine infrastructure in the Pilbara region, Western Australia.

The project is expected to commence on site this month and to be completed in April 2015.

The project workforce is expected to reach 200 people at its peak, engineering group John Holland said. 

John Holland group managing director Glenn Palin said the project "aligns with our strategy of building full service engineering and construction capabilities across the energy and resources sector".
