LUNCHTIME isn't all about getting on the monkey bars and playing hide and seek for students at Greenacre Public School, who are hitting the library for Storytime.Reading sessions in the school's library, held twice a week as a part of the Premier's Reading Challenge, have caught the attention of children from kindergarten to year 6.A Book Bites session is held for older students each Wednesday and a Storytime session is provided for younger students each Friday. Sessions run for about 20 minutes.Teacher librarian Lauren Horwitz said students were enthusiastic about attending. "We're making reading fun, rather than just about homework," she said.Six-year-old Janine El-Hindi, who is in year 1, said: "I don't have a favourite but I like books where you learn a lot." The Premier's Reading Challenge is a NSW government initiative with principal partner Dymocks Children's Charities, supporting partner OPSM and media partner The Sun-Herald.
