IPA's ‘free market’ carbon nonsense

The Institute of Public Affairs opposition to carbon markets because they depend on government regulation is utter nonsense. Unless you'd prefer the world run by the sword, government regulation is essential to property rights and free markets.

Many are puzzled by the political theory of carbon markets. Why does the Institute for Public Affairs – a libertarian think tank – oppose a market in carbon?
