Job: Teen concierge

Where: Marriott Australia

Why is it important?

I've always been interested in travel journalism and so I applied for the teen concierge job where I write about places in Melbourne that I think other teens would like. I used to use Instagram for sharing photos with my friends, then I got this job and now I use it all the time, and I really know how to use things like hashtags. My stories get published on the [Marriott's] This City My Way website (thiscitymyway.com.au) and when I use Instagram I use that hashtag. The Marriott suggests some places, and I suggest others. My favourite story so far is definitely the AFL. I'm a massive fan, and I go to the Hawks. I love the atmosphere of the MCG.

What do your colleagues think?

My friends think it's an amazing opportunity because my story is going in Dolly magazine and Women's Weekly.

Unusual moment?

Because people post hashtags on Facebook and Twitter as well, my mum thought that the actual hashtags were Instagram.

She made a status on Facebook saying "Follow my hashtag on Facebook". She tagged me in the status so all my friends could see it. They were all laughing. I had to write her an instruction sheet.

How much does it cost?

Free.
