Incitec Pivot Ltd has announced Bernard Walsh will step down as president of global manufacturing, following a review of the division.

In a statement to the Australian Securities Exchange, Incitec said its detailed review of global manufacturing operations resulted in the business being split into two functions.

A strategic and technical function will consolidate engineering and project management expertise into a single centre, while an operational function will be responsible for operating plants on a day-to-day basis, the group said.

The new organisational structure will come into effect on October 1. Both Mr Walsh's retirement and Alan Grace's appointment as president of strategic engineering will come into effect from this date.
