Galdino Claro named Sims CEO

Sims Metal Management (SGM) has appointed Galdino Claro as chief executive officer and managing director, effective from November 4.

In a statement to the Australian Securities Exchange, Sims said the appointment followed a comprehensive international search in which both external and internal candidates were considered. 

Former chief executive Daniel Dienst resigned from the world's largest scrap metal recycler in February.

Sims chairman Geoff Brunsdon said Mr Claro’s background made him well suited to lead Sims Metal Management at this time (see Tim Treadgold's Recycling Sims).
