Facebook has agreed to take further steps to tackle the privacy concerns, with the social network to make several changes to its services to improve transparency and better protect the personal data of its millions of users outside of the US.

Given the popularity of social networks, one can argue that we are headed for a post privacy society anyway. But until we get there this is an issue that Facebook and its rivals, including Google , will have to keep an eye on.
