Facebook's IPO was always expected to generate a lot of headlines this year and now that the social network has inched that little bit closer to that $US10 billion float let's take a closer look at Facebook's cash pile.

This cash pile is on track to grow larger and a successful float could propel Facebook's public valuation past the likes of IBM, Amazon and McDonalds. As mentioned in today's Tech Deals, the IPO will be subject to unprecedented scrutiny and will make founder Mark Zuckerberg and the co-founders Eduardo Saverin, Chris Hughes and Sean Parker a whole lot richer.
