Peer-to-peer lending

Thanks for your article on P2P lending. As always your commentary is thoughtful and balanced. I hope you get some good feedback – especially in relation to the chart which I expect will make interesting viewing for your readers.

I would make some observations in relation to your commentary about Dan, the Eureka report user, who loaned money in our three year loan interest amount.  The PDS is in fact very clear as to how the interest is calculated, and because our rates/markets are dynamic, the PDS obviously can state exactly what interest numbers are for any specific lender/loan. It is therefore inaccurate so suggest there is a lack of detail in the PDS. Also we have not had any other investors comment that they’d like to see this interest information beforehand, although if they were to ask, we’d help them with the calculations.

Food stock opportunities

I note Eureka picks up on many investment themes, such as international investing, hunt for yield, peer to peer sharing businesses. However, I don't seem to read much about the growing demand for food in Asia. There have been some companies with massive growth this year, but the growth portfolio only has Ridley in it. Are there still investable opportunities in this space?

Editor's response: Thanks very much for getting in touch, we appreciate your feedback.

We've passed your note on to our growth analyst for his consideration. He's always on the lookout for investable opportunities, and Eureka readers will be the first to hear about his picks. You might be interested in Tim Treadgold's piece on this topic.
