CSG debate bubbling to the surface

Coal seam gas has come under the spotlight again after gas was found bubbling to the surface in the Condamine River in Queensland. But we mustn't jump to conclusions.

The extraction of coal seam gas appears to be a simple exercise – drill bores, pump the water out and gas flows away. While this is technically true, many of the environmental risks are nowhere near as straightforward at all.
