Happy with Eureka's advice

Hi guys,

I would like to say how happy I am with your advice generally.  It was disappointing to see a couple of your readers complain about Alan taking long service leave at this time. He is very good to read and listen to, but you have James Kirby and Robert Gottliebsen and lots of other excellent financial writers and analysts.

If some 'investors' need constant advice, they should be seeing a financial advisor.

Keep up the good work!

Personal vs. general advice

Re: the Q & A in last edition (about Eureka's advice), James, as a former licenced adviser and supporter of Eureka Report's role, I feel you should have pointed out you can't give specific personal advice about a client's portfolio. I suspect people think you are!  i.e., they want you to maybe advise them to sell down part of their portfolio.

You are only of course ever giving general advice in Eureka, as is Alan. Clients then do things in their own portfolios at their risk - then no chance they expect their $$ back.

 - Geoff

Managing editor James Kirby writes: Thanks Geoff - and in case it does need clarification, at Eureka Report we operate under a general advice licence with senior staff such as Alan Kohler, myself and our team of analysts all being RG146 compliant with the relevant qualifications. Separately, all 'calls' are modelled and passed by an investment committee under the eye of our compliance officer Michael Tsotsos.

Where are the PDFs?

Hi Guys,

I have been a long-term subscriber to Eureka Report and I was wondering if these updates could also be converted and have as a pdf file. I work on a remote mine site and would enjoy reading them on the plane home. A year back some of the reports were accompanied by a .pdf attachment.

Editor's note: We generate a PDF of the Monday and Wednesday editions of Eureka Report in one document for your convenience, that is available on the website late each Friday. A link is also given to this in the Saturday email for download. You can find past PDFs here: Eureka Report Weekly Review PDFs.
