Bank of Queensland makes board changes

Bank appoints former Virgin Media exec Neil Berkett as former chairman retires.

Bank of Queensland Ltd has appointed former CEO of Virgin Media in the United Kingdom Neil Berkett to its board.

In a statement to the Australian Securities Exchange, the bank said Mr Berkett is the Virgin Group's nominee to its board following the acquisition of Virgin Money Australia.

He has previously worked at St George Bank, Citibank and Lloyds TSB and is an associate chartered accountant (NZ).

BOQ chairman Roger Davis said Mr Berkett's "understanding of Virgin's entrepreneurial culture will be a valuable addition to the board".

Former chairman Neil Summerson retired from the bank's board today after 16 years.
