Aust stocks open flat
Local market little changed after Wall St hits fresh record closing high.
The Australian stock market has opened little changed after Wall Street hit a fresh record closing high after weekly jobless claims hit a three-month low.
At the 10.15am (AEDT) official market open, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index inched up 0.14% to 5,453.4 points, while the broader All Ordinaries index added 0.17% to 5,468.8 points.
IG market strategist Stan Shamu said positive United States economic data and dissipating concerns over the Russia-Ukraine situation helped sentiment overnight.
"On the data front we had a better-than-expected unemployment claims number, 323,000 versus 336,000 expected, while US Federal Reserve members continued to support tapering," Mr Shamu said.
