Aust stocks lift slightly at noon

Local market tracks sideways in early trade after gains on Wall St as fears of Syria strike eased.

The Australian stock market has edged slightly higher at noon after gains on Wall Street as fears of an imminent strike against Syria eased.

At 1205 AEST official market open, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index inched 0.35% to  5,110.2 points, while the broader All Ordinaries index also edged 0.36% higher to 5,101.4 points.

On Thursday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was up 5.2 points, or 0.1%, at 5,092.4 points.

The broader All Ordinaries index was up 5.1 points, or 0.1%, at 5,083.1 points.
