Aust dollar slips in early trade

Local currency lowers ahead of US Federal Reserve meeting this week.

The Australian dollar is lower as investors await the outcome of the US Federal Reserve meeting later in the week.

At 0630 AEDT, the local unit was trading at 95.86 US cents, down from 96.05 cents on Friday.

On Wednesday (US time), the US central bank's policy committee will finish its two-day meeting, where a decision on winding up its economic stimulus program is expected to be made.
