Aurizon Holding's (AZJ) full-year coal output has come in within previous guidance, despite a slight decline in fourth-quarter results.

In the quarter to June 30, Aurizon posted total coal volumes of 52.1 million tonnes, a 1% slip on the 52.8 million tonnes recorded in the previous corresponding quarter.

However full-year coal volumes came to 210.4 million tonnes, a 9% lift on the 193.7 million tonnes in the previous year, and importantly within the group's previous guidance range of between 207-212 million tonnes.

The rail freight company expects to outline volume expectations for fiscal 2015 at its full-year results on August 18.
