Aristocrat dismisses consolidation

CEO Jamie Odell says group is yet to find attractive takeover target, still looking.

Chief executive officer of Aristocrat Leisure (ALL) Jamie Odell has dismissed talk the poker machine maker will take part in the wide-set consolidation in the United States gaming industry, The Australian Financial Review reports.

According to the newspaper, the stance comes despite Aristocrat mulling two large-scale acquisitions of US rivals this year, and after participating in the sales process of of Nasdaq-listed Multimedia Games recently.

Aristocrat was reportedly one of several parties interested in the $US1.09 billion Multimedia Games, however, Mr Odell said the group has no immediate plans to acquire the group.

The AFR reports Mr Odell said he was aware of the consolidation that is happening in the industry, but the group was yet to identify an attractive takeover target.

“We have no immediate plans for consolidation, but we continue to look at it," he said.
