The area of Arctic sea ice may have reached a record low, but it's unlikely to have an impact on energy policy anytime soon.

Dwindling Arctic summer sea ice is unlikely to spur new policies to curb fossil fuels without more evidence of environmental impact, given stalled UN climate talks and political attitudes to mineral resources.
