ANZ appoints Andrew Géczy

Lender announces new CEO of international and institutional banking.

Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) has appointed Andrew Géczy as chief executive officer of international and institutional banking, reporting to CEO Mike Smith.

In a statement to the Australian Securities Exchange, Mr Smith said Mr Géczy was "the ideal leader to continue to grow the business in Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific, to manage the risk and regulatory landscape, and to support the delivery of our super regional aspirations".

Mr Géczy was previously a senior executive at Lloyds Banking Group with responsibility for corporate and institutional banking, sales and trading, capital markets, structured corporate finance, transaction banking and portfolio management.

He will be based in Melbourne and is expected to commence on September 16 subject to regulatory approvals.
