It's a landmark day for the NBN with the unveiling of their three-year rollout plan but the folks at Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) have again renewed their assault on the network and the Labor government's profligacy.

The report thrashes Australia's fibre strategy for its “extreme government intervention” and its cost per household – as seen in today's infographic, an exert of the graphs from the report.

The report raises questions as whether we are on the right track with our NBN. But the scale of today's announcement – over 3.5 million premises and businesses will be connected to the NBN in the next three years – shows that it may be too late for doubt.

Today's infographic was created and sourced from the Economic Intelligence Unit's Government Broadband Report.
