All you need to know about the telcos' iPhone 6 deals
It’s going to be a big week for our major telcos. Both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are released on Friday, and unsurprisingly the launch deals are attracting attention. As with previous iPhone launches, this one is set to be a key period for customer churn.
For Telstra, it's all about holding onto existing customers. Meanwhile, at Optus, Vodafone and Virgin, the focus is on stealing subscribers from each other, as well as from market leader Telstra.
As it stands, most pre-orders are sold out. But as seen with previous iPhone launches, stock levels can change in an instant if Apple manages to provide more phones to the telcos before launch. So, in this regard, we are wary about reporting each telcos’ level of supply.
What we can collate for you however is a tally of the device plans on offer; even as supply changes the plans are likely stay the same. Here are both the cheapest and the most expensive plans.
Keep in mind that most of these plans come with bonuses. The most notable of these is Optus’offer to pay $200 towards telco contact exit fees. Telstra matched this offer last week. Telstra is also offering either bonus mobile data or calls on all of its plans -- the amounts vary depending on the plan. Virgin however is offering a fixed 2GB bonus on all of its iPhone plans. Meanwhile, Vodafone is offering a bonus 1GB of mobile data for plans over $80 per month and a bonus 2GB of mobile data for plans that over over $100 per month.
