It's not often a company becomes so well-known and central to what we do that it becomes part of our vocabulary.

But that's what Google has become, a company that rules internet traffic with its search engine. It was founded on the idea that it would help peacefully usher in a new era of technology, but now many are wondering whether the supposed gentle, helpful touch of Google is turning more into an iron fist.

So on that thought, today's infographic (which was created by Singlegrain and sourced from Daily Infographic) contemplates one question: what if Google never existed?

Scroll down and imagine, if you will, a world without Google.
