A slow start but funnyman is laughing all the way to the bank

In a week in which the sharemarket ended slightly below where it started, our latest batch of racers has staggered, rather than bounded, out of the blocks.

The fresh-faced rookies lead the field at this early stage. Comedian Anh Do made the best-performing picks of the racers this week, with Focus Minerals gaining 14 per cent. Santos also boosted his pool.

CPA Alex Bolton mixed things up, choosing some of the market's biggest banks and miners, with JB Hi-Fi and Wesfarmers thrown in for good measure. Diversification's the key, hey Alex? Good approach. We'll watch how you go.
