Roadshow selling out fast
If you were lucky enough to attend one of last year’s roadshow events, you would have found out about a few stocks that weren’t covered on the website (which you can watch here).
In Sydney, Kerr Neilson of Platinum Asset Management was asked by one curious member where he would invest his last $1,000 (an unlikely possibility but bear with us). ‘Platinum Japan Fund’, said Kerr, without skipping a beat. In the past twelve months (to 31 October) it is up 70.1%.
In Adelaide, Erik Metanomsik of Lanyon Asset Management spent 40 minutes (20 minutes over his allotted time mind you) extolling the virtues of Village Roadshow. It’s risen 104% since the time of his elongated presentation, which is the best excuse we can think of.
And our very own Steve Johnson of Intelligent Investor Funds Management offered a very thorough analysis of RNY Property Trust, which has nearly doubled.
Erik won’t be returning this year but Kerr Neilson (in Melbourne) and Steve Johnson most certainly will, along with Chris Mackay and Domenico Giuliano (in Sydney) from Magellan Financial Group. All will be talking about some of the stocks they’re keen on right now.
We’ve also persuaded the rather bashful but eternally popular Gareth Brown of Intelligent Investor Funds Management to make the trip from Vienna and our new addition Kevin Rose will be arriving from New York. Last but not least, the best looking bloke at Intelligent Investor – which ain’t saying much – Research Director Nathan Bell will be speaking at both venues, no doubt in sparkling form and an equally sparkly suit.
No wonder tickets are selling fast. In fact, the Melbourne roadshow on the 21st of November and the Sydney event on the 26th may well sell out next week. So this is your chance to book your tickets if you haven’t already done so.
At $50 for the first ticket and the second one half price, including food and refreshments (we’re aiming for something slightly better than last year’s Melbourne carrot sticks), it’s a steal – just like RNY Property and all the other stocks mentioned at our 2012 roadshow.
Don’t miss out. Book your tickets now.
