Kathmandu chief executive Peter Halkett will take extended leave with a severe infection following routine surgery last month.

Kathmandu chief executive Peter Halkett will take extended leave with a severe infection following routine surgery last month.

John Harvey, who has been in the chairman's role since the death of James Strong last month, will remain as acting chairman until the company's annual meeting this year while the board searches for a permanent replacement.

Finance director Mark Todd will continue as acting chief executive until Mr Halkett returns.

Mr Halkett has been given leave of up to three months.
