Vicinity Centres: Interim result 2016

Despite reporting a mixed result, Vicinity Centres appears to be on the right track

Whilst its market capitalisation might be half that of rival shopping centre landlord Scentre Group, Vicinity has something that Scentre management no doubt wishes it could slap a Westfield banner on — Australia’s largest shopping centre.

With moving annual turnover (MAT) of $1.5bn, Vicinity’s Chadstone Shopping Centre in Melbourne easily beats Scentre’s best performers Westfield Bondi Junction ($1.0bn) and Westfield Sydney ($950m).
