Transurban approved to buy QLD Motorways

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has announced it will not oppose a Transurban-led consortium’s purchase of Queensland Motorways from state-owned Queensland Investment Corporation should the group be the successful bidder. The ACCC concluded the acquisition would not increase Transurban’s ability to raise roaming fees for its electronic toll services due to a lack of geographic overlap between Queensland Motorways and its existing NSW and Victorian networks as well as only limited interstate travel.
