Telstra: Result 2013

Improved customer service, competitive pricing and owning the nation’s best mobile network helped deliver a decent full year result. Jason Prowd asks whether it will be enough to fend off rapidly growing rivals and adapt to an NBN world?

The telecommunications industry is changing, and the NBN is set to accelerate the trend of people ditching home phones in favour of mobiles, tablets and VoIP connections. Telstra’s future will be dictated by how it responds to the NBN (see Telstra Pt 1: Five major challenges from 30 May 12 (Hold – $3.54)), but half by half the company appears to be winning the battle.
