Suncorp: Result 2012

Suncorp's annual result was encouraging, and included a special dividend of 15 cents per share.

Suncorp’s annual result showed the company’s clean-up operation is producing results, but still has a long way to go. The reported figures aren’t very meaningful, but for the record net profit increased 60% to $724m. An unchanged fully franked final dividend of 20 cents per share was declared (ex date already passed), bringing the full year total to 40 cents. A fully franked special dividend of 15 cents was also declared, as part of Suncorp’s plan to return capital to shareholders as the ‘bad bank’ is wound up. Suncorp will also increase the amount of profits distributed as dividends from 50-70% of cash earnings to 60-80%.
