According to our staff trading policy, staff members are not permitted to trade against an official Intelligent Investor Buy or Sell recommendation, other than with specific approval, which will only be granted in exceptional circumstances.
We have granted such approval to senior analyst James Carlisle to Sell shares in ResMed and ASX, in spite of our Buy recommendations on the stocks. The exceptional circumstances are that James bought most of the shares while he wasn't working for Intelligent Investor, and they have reached uncomfortable weightings in his portfolio: at 23% and 20% respectively.
He plans to reduce each holding by slightly more than half, although they will remain above our recommended maximum portfolio weightings of 7% for ResMed and 8% for ASX, reflecting his continued confidence in the two stocks.
