Servcorp’s AGM last night was the idiosyncratic affair we’ve come to expect – mostly in a good way. It was held in the company’s plush new office space on Level 36 of Gateway, down near Circular Quay in Sydney, with views all the way out to the heads. But shareholders were squeezed into a skinny boardroom, with two rows of about a dozen seats set up just a few feet from the long directors’ table. At least it gave an easy, narrow angle down the room for the live webcast.
The arrangements sum up Servcorp AGMs – somewhat informal, a little bit strange, but extremely open. You won’t find more candidness from any public company – and that, after all, is what you’re there for.
